The whole kit needs playing with...
Piston & rings are bad no good if you are thinking of stage 4ing
Ive done Dozens now but I change the pistons and rings and reprofile heads
Seen lots of the 186 200 & 225 kits go pop mainly due to rings breaking

Im assuming the blue one you mean the CDI which has the HT lead out of it
& the metal one being the regulator
So if this is so there should be a earth wire off the regulator to the frame ,so yes you can bolt it to the same earth point,
or onto the regulator earth

I dont think it would cause a problem shorting, but if snapped it could cause doggey earth fault.
