I've tried cleaning the inside of a standard rusty tank with paint stripper, nuts and bolts and a whole lot of shaking. Although I managed to remove a fair bit of rust, flakes and gunk, I ended up having to buy another tank and seal that. Seemed to be a false economy to try to sort the old tank out...

Thanks for that am I right in thinking the one from the float bowl is just a breather & the one on the side is an overflowukpeckerwood wrote:The one on the top I think is for a vacuum pump feed or a oil feed and should be blanked of.

I lived in abruzzo for a wee while once upon a time. In early autumn those little b@5t@rds would make their way into the house to keep warm. The Italians reckoned they stung but were harmless really. I was effing terrified of them. :o Thanks for that info I was struggling to find anything about it ...

I had this on a JL 3 a couple of years ago turned out to be a pin hole as grumpy 225 said blob of weld sorted it
