Re: Quick question

You can get an MOT on the frame number, no problem. Once you have got that apply for your V5, when you have the date of your inspection appointment you can then insure, I would suggest that the insurance starts no more than a week before the inspection date, they get really stroppy after 2 weeks and...

Re: Gearing Question - Pacemaker Gearbox v SX150 gearbox

I'd stick with the pacemaker and change the front sprocket to a 16, I run this in an Imola and it pulls like a train (5.3), I'm guessing the MB kit is torquier so perhaps even a 17 sprocket (4.98). Never used an SX150 box but understand that the 3rd to 4th jump is on the large side. Li 150 Boxes are...

Re: Fast-ish Touring Kit?

However, i guess it would be better to have a 200cc bike plus... but that would mean having to find one! The only real competition for an Imola is a Tuned TS1 or an RB if we are talking out of the box, It really depends where you are going to do most of your riding, it's always about compromise. Or...

Re: Fast-ish Touring Kit?

I was looking at Imola kits and they seem to put out some decent figures. So i was wondered if any one could suggest any other kits or what works we'll with the imola kit. I'd want something that will be faster than my T5, nippy round town and would hit around 75mph without sounding like it will bl...

Re: Imola Porting

Thanks Mark and thanks to you too Chris (Top Bloke!) for the long chat, like you said, I'll see what gearing it can currently pull and then take it from there. I'm going 17/46 which will take it to 4.98 and use an 81 link chain.

Imola Porting

Since my barrel needs replating I was thinking of getting some work done on it first. As it is it's great fun around the lanes at home but on a long run screaming it's nuts off it does my head in, it's an early Imola, can it be ported to have more torque so I can change the gearbox and find a better...

Re: miceck info

Well, I am thinking it is a MK 1, 1989 as that is what appears to be stamped on it. My Mikeck is stamped: MK3R Mikeck 8/85 which I have always assumed was a Mark 3 from 1985, so it's unlikely a MK1 would be stamped 1989? Running mine on a new sil gp200, with a 28 delly, not quite run in yet but it ...

Yes, but last time I got a quote from them they were the same price as Tino was offering but without a piston ! Tino has replied and given me the details of who to contact now and I'm waiting for a reply from them to see exactly what the deal is with them now. Thanks.

Re: Imola Cylinder Damage

Thanks for reminding me of Tino's service, I did contact him myself a couple of years but totally forgot about it... doh

He was quoting 150 euros inc shipping and piston then and it was being done by GILA MOTORSPORT, I'll look into it again, thanks again.

Imola Cylinder Damage

Thanks to those who replied before, I've now stripped it down and it looks worse than was expected... With just the head off I couldn't see this gouge running south of one of the exhaust transfers, what's the verdict now?
