Re: Help getting the GT186 compression right after last years issue!?
Hi Donnie, I sent you a PM about this when I saw your post on LCGB. Your post says the measurements are without gaskets. If you add a gasket either side of the base packer you will gain 0.8mm to the squish and head volume. This will give you 1.53mm which is bang in the money and the squish volume wi...

Re: gt200 ?

Are you using a porcupine head and a copper head gasket, base packer and gaskets? How many of the packers and ga...

PM me the engine specification, and the history and we'll go from there. Like Eden says, the Main is normally 135.

Re: Tip for getting frozen engine case studs out.
Alternatively, for studs that have sheered off flush or taps that have broken off inside deep holes, I've been using spark erosion. When machining some of the GT cases I have broken M6 taps on the CNC. The tap snapped in the M6 seal plate hole in the crank case. You'd have no chance to get this out ...

Re: Changing to a 60mm crank
OK, in terms of GT186 kits these are the influences
58/107 exhaust 173 transfer 124 (no head gasket, standard build)
60/107 exhaust 174.6 transfer 127.1 (1mm head gasket only)
60/110 exhaust 174.1 transfer 126.7 (3mm base gasket & 1mm head gasket

Re: Changing to a 60mm crank
Increasing the stroke will increase the port durations if you add a 1mm base packer but you may run into problems with the piston skirt bottoming out. If you run a longer rod this has the effect or reducing the timings, this is why a 60 stroke /110 rod combination works really well. The 110 rod also...
