Re: electronic ignition wiring confusion

Think of it as a set of completely separate circuits. You have correctly identified the red/white/green go to the C.D.I. The green wire also feeds up to the headset and is shorted straight to earth via the ignition switch when switched off, this stops the scooter starting. The green wires need to be...

Re: Li150 seized. What do you think.

It would run ok then nip up, dropped a piston ring, then starting problems.
It wasn’t much fun to ride and just wasn’t fast enough to keep up with modern U.K. traffic
I tried the 175 route- once again didn’t run well, in the end I bought an RT, and it works

Re: Li150 seized. What do you think.

This is my opinion only
I spent lots of time and cash trying to get a standard scoot to run well and it never did.
In the end I fitted an RT kit 195 kit
If your going to end up with an RT kit, I would read the info on the MB developments site, it recommends a 60x110 crank.

Re: Li150 seized. What do you think.

If it were me , I would have the crank rebuilt as a minimum. Any decent motorcycle shop will rebuild the conrod But For me it would come down to cost, time and reliability. You could chuck $75 at it and end up with a crap crank if its built wrong I replaced mine for exactly that reason. Depending on...

Re: RT 225 gearing

I’m running 4.95 on an 195 and it drags my 15 stone around up hill and down dale no problem.
5.22 is probably a bit low

Re: Grabbed a S1.... what to do?

Coat with ACF 50 regularly. It will preserve the metal, others use wax oil.
I’ve a set of panels that have been preserved in the same conditions as the leg shields for the last 4 years using ACF50
There’s a plenty of info on preserving if you do a search

Re: Smaller wassel/podtronic regulator?

Be prepared to collect the lump of melted potting compound and components. These things do create heat, especially when they dump power, daylight riding is the worst as all the power is being dumped because your lights aren’t on. Putting them in a plastic box with no airflow reduces their ability to...

Re: Nice day everyone out on your scooters

If it was easy everyone would be doing it. I’ve just destroyed a gear cog on my rapido and it feels like there’s a tight spot when rolling the scooter, so it will be in bits soon. But there is a bright side- I was thinking about upgrading to an AF 5 speed and it may have just made up my mind ( earli...
