Re: Egt temps
Head temp does not give much guide to tuning, but will warn of the engine being "too hot". I've used them on karts (air cooled two-stroke) as the full throttle mixture could be varied on the run. So one can set up the mixture during practice. I'm just getting back into Lambrettas and I liv...

Re: Check your licence/ This affects YOU
as I couldn't prove passing tests, My father never took a test for a car. Got his license during war when they simply gave you one! He has passed a PSV? licence for a coach. I don't live in UK but is this some screw up when converting from lifetime paper licence to a photo ID licence? I thought wit...

Re: What are the pros and cons of cast iron vs. aluminium ba
OT a bit and not related to my Lambretta kit question, but if we are talking mass production, the air cooled step-through "scooters" made in Asia by the millions have as a rule iron cylinders, almost exclusively. One would think that is aluminium is cheaper they would be aluminium. In cont...

Re: What are the pros and cons of cast iron vs. aluminium ba
We do have 100% petrol here but not every up-country station has it should I decide to venture outside the city. Maybe I could set up for 100% and ride slowly in the even of there being non available for 50kms or so. Sound like a leg shield glove box and an extra tank is the best bet. After all I wo...

Re: What are the pros and cons of cast iron vs. aluminium ba
It makes a difference when a mechanical failure of a seal or, unwittingly ethanol laden fuel is included into the equation. I'm in Thailand and fuel is ALL 10% ethanol, plus other limited availability with 20 and 85%. Is ethanol per se over PURE petrol the problem or the unwitting use of excess eth...

What are the pros and cons of cast iron vs. aluminium barrel
Euro has been slipping so thought it might be a good time to buy a Gori Racing kit, thereby at a stroke getting correct exhaust for the port timing and carb., etc. BUT it has a cast iron cylinder.
Any negatives of cast iron vs an alloy kit.
