when i go to start my special from cold, even after 2 or 3 weeks, turn petrol on choke on ign on, one quick prod of the kickstart and away she goes.
Iron 175 barrel, delorto 25mm using standard airbox. starts first kick hot or cold every time, was,nt allways the case (I used to have a jettex)

had no probs with mine, screwed them in by hand finished off with a socket, biggest job was getting the old ones out

I could call my golden special 50/50. on the outside its as it left the factory in 1963, on the inside its tarted up with 175 top end, new chain with new teflon top guide, new mazachelli crank (is that how you spell it) :? nylon lined cables, MB front fork springs, 25mm carb running through air box ...

the excess oil will come out the breather making a mess off your engine etc, the breather hole is,nt a pin prick ! it will p155 out

just jetting my 25mm delorto on my 175, running an 100 main jet and its spot on (102 bogs) like you when shutting off from full blat it was racing a tad, try raising your needle by dropping your circlip one notch , should cure it.

petrol tank been blasted ? minute particles of grit get through the gauze filter on carb banjo , then you will get 50 miles on a new top end if your lucky, been there done that got the t shirt

Little update, fitted the scootopia mounts, what a transformation doesn,t even vibrate when reving on stand like it used too, was a bit worried with being a harder rubber but on my 175 they are brilliant. thanks for all your input

The spring was too small put another spring on the tick over screw which was longer, just been on a 40 mile ride with no probs, happy days till next time and no doubt there will be a next time thanks for all your help.

think its sorted, must have been a warped steel !!! put three new steels in and at the moment no drag :) the steels i put in are a tad thinner, been on a test run and all seems well, the problem i have now is the bloody idle screw on the jettex keeps unwinding on its own :shock: thats a new one on m...
