Re: Gearbox Question

Oil drag on the clutch plates when cold. It probably wouldn’t do it once the oil gets hot or not at all if you use one of the new breeds of oil like Maxima’s MTL85 or the Castrol ST90 which unlike all the other ST90 oils is a GL3 oil (the others are all GL1) hope this helps.

Re: BLOA dead?

Just googled BLOA, first thing that comes up is their website with “join now for £10” “ participate in our rallies “ “insurance discounts” bla bla bla, bloody dishonest as you won’t get insurance discounts and there are no rallies I wonder how many existing “members” are renewing? Or is it simply a ...

Re: Ignition systems

@wintermodel65 It’s a Lambretta mate, a lot of the stuff out there is shite. Plug and play doesn’t actually mean plug and play in Lambretta land, what it actually means is I’ll sell you some shite I know won’t fit and leave you to struggle to modify/adapt it to fit sometimes doing more damage in the...

Re: Cheap 5/6 plate clutch

Interesting. I’ve used the Readspeed but warped a couple of steels and ended up with bent springs, then went on to use the Newfren version but with the MB springs, this up until recently has proven to work well and no doubt both would be fine on a lesser powered engine, but I noticed last time I rod...

Sounds like something I’m probably going to be up for. Yes I’ll have a slice of that.

Re: Mugello 240 ??

Can’t remember when exactly but maybe a year or so ago there was a recall on these kits as the piston to bore clearance was to tight, wonder if you’ve got one that somehow slipped through the net? Worth checking.

Re: Mugello 240 ??

Yes you could retain your existing crank and use the 70mm Mugello cylinder to get you to 240 cc or why not look at the RT kit which is cheaper than the Mugello. If it were me and for all round cheapness I’d be looking at a Rapido cylinder, head and piston. Remember your GT crank comes with an 18mm s...

Re: Clubman on GT186 - Ex Box?

I've been running a BGM Mk3 Clubman on my GT240 for about 4 years now having had mostly expantions on other enginers (Avanti, TS1, Mugello) and can say that it runs very well through the gears with a smooth flat power curve and tops out about 75mph. Ive never had any over heating problems with it b...

Re: Clubman on GT186 - Ex Box?

Eden was saying over on fb a while back how good the fran race was on the GT kits, much more so than the super tourer which he considered quite peaky despite the name.
