Re: Chain replacement
I've just split my casings to renew the clutch plates, and I've noticed that the chain is very slack, and the tensioner is at the end of its adjustment. So I guess it's time to bite the bullet and fit a new chain. I've never done it before, so what's the best way to go about it? I realise that one ...

Re: T5 stator problems?
After trying again, now getting over 1000 ohms from the pickup(red) and nothing from the LT (green). Looks like there might have been some "operator error" around the multimeter, earlier, sorry . So, once I've got a flywheel puller, I'll look at replacing the LT coil then, with Piaggio or...

Re: silicone sealent as a gasket
Can I use locitite silicone sealent as a head gasket replacement? Silicone sealants can be used elsewhere as a replacement for gasket. At the head where the fuel burns, temperatures could easily rise beyond 300 deg C, where the Silicone sealant would brake down and get charred. So please check the ...

Re: 12V DC CONVERSION - HOW TO
Dear Folks, I have also converted to my SIL Vijai Super to a full DC setup by re-soldering the wires and swapping the tail-lamp & brake-light coils with a thicker head light ones. Soldered all 4 of them in series. Now the 2 ends of this series connection is fed to a DC rectifier of Piaggio Ape, ...

Re: Led stop/bulb
LEDs work on DC. With AC they tend to blow off very immediately. Have you got DC going into the tail lamp & the brake lamp. Yes, the ebay or aliexpress stuff are pathetic. You may use the boards, along with a 12V regulator like a 7812 IC. Even in DC setups voltage spikes up to 15-16V if the rect...

Re: CDI
My Vijai has a proper Delhi made CDI kit only. So far no issues in the past 700 kms. It was a AC kit on which I introduced an extra wire to make it DC. Still going good. Hope it wouldn't let me down some day in the middle of the street.

Re: indian engine number identification.
Mick, This is how the engine number is stamped in my Vijai Super.
The full number is stamped near the tie rod. It starts with the SIL logo and then *22*and so on.
Only the last 6 digits of this full engine number is stamped on the right side engine mount, near the 13mm studs.

Re: indian GP indicator position
Any one got any info on were the PX style indicators fit on a indian GP :D Though I don't have an exact number from a drawing or something, I would follow this thumb rule The base of the horn cast (where the front mudguard is bolted to the horncast) should line up with the lower edge of the black p...

Re: Points Stator 2 or 5 Coils?
As far as im aware all ignition switches cut the power in the off position the dc switch has a position in the anti clockwise position for a "parking light " Hello Shocky, Yes, I am using the same switch as mentioned above. The problem I have is with wiring it up. Checked the continuity i...
