Easiest thing to try is take out and clean the idle jet and its housing first.
Might get you a bit nearer.

Re: T5 misfiring at high revs.
Lucky for me i have more than 1 T5 so i swapped the stator to another scooter.
The fault changed to that scooter.
Wouldn't mind but when you take it for testing etc..

T5 misfiring at high revs.
My T5 172 has a misfire at high revs.
So far i have changed the carb, cdi, plug,ht cap,ht lead, exhaust, had the stator in to beedspeed for a new pick up and wiring, had the fuel tank and filter out.
Still got a misfire at high revs.
Anyone got any ideas please?

My casings are ported etc but my settings are - Air corrector jet - 160 Mixer tube - BE3 Main jet - 121 Idle jet - 55-160 Engine timing - 18 degrees Spark plug - B7 unless i'm doi...

Re: polini 177 jetting please
That idle jet is very weak.
Divide the two numbers together.
e.g. a T5 engine has a 50-100 idle jet giving a number of 2
This is one of the lowest (richest) idle jets.
A P2 carb has a 55-160 which is i think a 2.9.
Not as rich as a T5 but a lot richer than yours which is over 3.
Hope this makes sense.

Re: pinasco 177
Fitted my ally Pinasco 177 a few weeks ago.
Getting the scoot taxed and tested next month.
Looking forward to seeing how it compares to my old Polini.
