Re: Which Electronic Ignition Kit

Just revisiting this thread. Can anyone give feedback on the Scootopia Electronic kit now that it's been out for a while. I'm just about to buy a new Electronic set up and the Scootopia kit seems to a good bet ?

Re: Smiths Speedo Recalibration

Many thanks mate. The repro is pretty good and I believe they are made to original specs as part of the Royal Enfield deal, but as with Indian Lambretta, probably not to the same grade as originals. Mine looks good in the customised headset, but I really need it to work quite accurately. Thanks again.

Re: Smiths Speedo Recalibration

I'm thinking of giving up on this as it's in the too hard box. My headset has been customised and the Smiths speedo is a good fit, but not having it calibrated is a big issue. Surely someone must've had one converted or sorted. I know a few guys just bend the needle so it reads ok at a mid speed li...

Re: Mugello 240 ??

Reading Coaster’s reply earlier in this thread reminded me of the nightmare of fitting the temp ring! I had mine fitted under the head nut furthest from the fan. Easyish when the engine was on the bench. Nightmare when I took the head off for a decoke! Couldn’t refit and had to file it bigger to fi...

Re: Mugello 240 ??

I have no knowledge of mugellos but I do run a gt240 on a gt casing. Did you have your seizure problems while running in? I’ve 10000 ish miles on mine and it’s been great but without a temp guage I’d have blown it sky high during the break in miles! For the first 500 odd miles it ran very hot when ...

Re: Smiths Speedo Recalibration

Thanks for the tip re the cable connection. Anyone got any advice re calibration? There's a place in Swansea but I'm in Australia. I could post it if anyone has used them?

Hmmm. When you put it like that Hendy it does sound a bit of a tall order.

Smiths Speedo Recalibration

Apologies if this has come up before. I did search the forum and didn't see anything. I've got a Smiths Speedo (Indian replica) and wondering if anyone knows where I can get it recalibrated for 10 inch wheel. I don't mind if I have to post it overseas. Everything I've read on these Speedos seems inc...

Re: 225 Cylinder Head Profiling

I've found a local machine shop that does rebores and he can work the head too. He can open up the mating face to the new diameter. He can also blend and profile the outer edges of the head to the same contour as the original. So at least I now have a fallback option. But still interested to see if ...
