Re: Smiths Speedo Recalibration

Don't give up! I used 120mph one it was a fair bit out. I swapped to a 90mph one and it's about right on my S2, certainly no worse than a lambretta speedo and much better to watch! Demonstrating that they must be the same speedo with a different face. These remade ones are basic inside and not like...

Re: BLOA dead?

Wow just read this whole thread (yes I'm having a quiet day). Scootering sure seems complicated in the UK these days. So much has changed since I left. Things are a bit simpler down here in Australia (at least for Lambretta owners anyway). The LCOA has a bank of tooling, engine stands and helpful fo...

Re: Smiths Speedo Recalibration

I'm not making much progress on this one as I'm still mulling it over. I noticed the repro I have has got some dirt or a mark on the inside of the glass and it's really bugging me and it really shows up against the white face. I don't want to start dismantling. SIP are advertising a Smiths repro but...

Re: Cutdown views

Feeling pretty pleased today. Managed to get a S2 toolbox in good nick, dent free complete with rubber. Sourced here in Australia (albeit in the Eastern States). Also managed to pick up a decent fuel tank, cleaned and dent free. The vision is starting to come together now and I'm keeping a good numb...

Re: Auto Lube System

Wondering if any of the Vursper setups could be adapted or copied somehow. I think the PX models had auto lube systems.

Auto Lube System

I was reflecting on some of the incredible performance developments currently available. The choice of kits, cylinder types, carb set ups, ignition kits, etc. is amazing. But I also got to think about some of the other 'agricultural' and time bound aspects of Lambrettas. None more glaring in my mind...

Re: GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

Just a thought (and I'm not familiar with the kit so it might seem dumb), but can't you use a different manifold which drops the carb down to a lower (normal) angle?

Re: GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

I also don't quite get why some of the kits which retain the left hand set up, don't fit. The suggestion by W /Tornado to use a PWK is a good one. I've had this set up on a previous Jet 200 and it was awesome. My current, old school set up is with a 30mm Delly and is a s close to what I had in 1974 ...

Re: GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

these Lambretta scooters are weird sometimes, aren't they? They sure can be, but the original design was always tight on tolerances and shifting the carb from one side to the other is always a bit of a stretch. I'm a bit old school as I've said many times and I've always struggled with the re...
