grease or oil the seal and keep rotating the crank as you pull it into place then as you push down the mag flange.

I use a pair of divders to find the centre point between the 2 marks (tdc) as there is no chance of me getting the maths wrong (again)

tip for people wanting to bung up exhaust stubs for leak down tests. i use the mandrels out of cheap sanding drum sets if its just too small a bit of insulating tape does the trick

bought a set of indian panels a few years back, also at the shop was a nos italian panel ( with innocenti sticker) visualy the difference was above the louvre recess front top where it curved all the indian panel had a ripple some more than others but the italian panel was smooth there was also some...

I would build it with no base gasket the port timings without are almost identical to my 1980's stg 4 from taffspeed (175,125,155) . the real problem is when the piston is lower than the exhaust port this causes turbulence in the gasses leaving the barrel a small part of the crown showing in the por...

I prefer between dairymilk (good) and bournville (a little rich) also when the air gets cooler and denser in winter it will be leaner still
