Re: GT186 manifold - carb fouling engine mount

Damn. This was going to be my next build. I love the TM24, as it is such a responsive little carb, and wanted it on the GT186.

I have another GT186 with 115 conrod and 8mm packer. Does anyone think this would allow it to clear the mount?

Re: HMW (Helleiner Motorenwerk) 1962 scooter

8-) Personally, I have never seen or even heard of these before. Nice find. I’d recommend that you contact the Vintage Motor Scooter Club. They may well be able to help, or possibly point you in the direction of someone in Austria or Germany who can.

Good luck with it 👍

I can’t comment on the 240 version but, 2 years ago, I did 2500 miles to adria on a B8 and on a GT186.

Re: Dark Visors - Beware

To be fair, I got caught out back in 2010 having to ride back from Portsmouth to Merseyside with one at night. I had to ride visor up the whole way as I literally couldn’t see in the half light or at night. As you can’t always legislate when you’ll be forced to ride at night, because of breakdowns s...

Re: Scooter not picking up properly ........... HELP!

I’d be wary of running a 35, as has been said by others. Be careful;-)

If I were you I'd go back to using a 40 slide in the carb.
How come?
Where is “oil” leak from?

You may be richening up your air mix, by going to that size of slide, to mask an air leak.

I suspect I was told this in the context of the skirt needing cutting and the head reproducing though.

Re: whats the verdict on 24mm PWK carbs ?

Just to put up an alternative view, I wasted months and months of my life about 10 years ago trying to set up copy Keihins albeit largely on a Mugello which may have been part of the issue. Anyway, I vowed never again after that. They are especially temperamental regards float height and their float...
