Re: air flow problem
Sounds like the filter is making it too rich. Consider trying a smaller pilot. Also, you might be getting too much spitback ie. it's hitting the bend in the rubber and being sucked back in again making it too rich and boggy. I've no experience of the gauze type filters although they always give me t...

Re: Yamaha clutch lever
I used the Yam ones that MB sell with the 8mm pivot. I used it on a Vietnamese housing which, unfortunately, has a slightly bigger gap so the lever is a little sloppy. It is a bit messy to get it all to fit. If I was doing it again I'd get one of the ones that MB have now made in the same shape and ...

Re: Gear box advice please
To answer the original post, I can vouch for a 125 Special gearbox (same as GP125) with 47/18 sprockets. This gives GP 200 gearing and I've run it for several thousand miles on both a 175 conversion and a 186 Mugello with a Clubman and various carbs from 20 to 28mm.

Re: Gear box advice please
I've run an SX150 box (46/17 sprockets) on a tuned SR190, 28ml carb, and clubman for a couple of years. It's been fine on this. In my experience, you get used to the box and ride accordingly______quick and fast through the gears but maybe that's just the way i like to ride :D . I'm just doing a rebu...

Re: Question about Mugello 186 cylinder.
A large rear sprocket, and a small front sprocket, puts a big strain on the clutch. You may need to think about getting a new gearbox to get 5.2. Incidentally, I have the same set up as you, with a PM expansion, and 5.2 is good.

Re: Question about Mugello 186 cylinder.
The gasket is the same fit whether you flip it over or not, surely :? Oiling your RamAir____as has been said, this won't be your problem. All you need to do with this is wash it in petrol with a dash of 2 stroke. Being a more dusty climate than the UK, you probably need to do this more of then than ...

Also, possibly an air leak causing it to run weak and cut out as soon as throttle opened.
