can anyone explain why a Lambretta is designed to run at 4% when a Vespa is running 2% ? This seems to affect kits as well with the Lambretta still needing more oil in the mix.
I'd have thought the pistons and barrels are the same material so so why the difference ?

Just done 10 miles after building the engine from scratch...all new internals. I'm impressed. First couple of miles found it cutting out at odd times, drove it back home and fitted a fast flow tap and the problem appears to be solved. I've been using a 225 classic Rapido with standard Indian GP gear...

Used a bit of emery cloth around the rear brake casing, sorted it !! can't believe how little i had to take off, compared to the noise it was making...

I took the hub off, turned it round and put it on back-to-front, and the layshaft spun freely...no grinding. Intresting that a 2mm spacer is available (why??).

Yup thats what i'm trying but it's frustrating !! I think it's the lip around the shoes on the casing, but even with the marker pen it's not conclusive....

just put a new casing together (all internals brand new as well). I've been trying to put the rear hub on but when i tighten the hub nut the hub gets tighter and eventually wont turn. I put the hub on without tightening it and when it turns a grinding noise can be heard (and felt). It's not consista...

the ones at Lambretta Upgrades (Chiggy ?) are listed as 290...so fingers crossed
