116 rod gp crank
am building an engine that requires a gp crank with a 116 rod, i see plenty of cheap SIL cranks on ebay, my question is how feasable is building my own race crank? do the webs need machining for big end shims and any suggestions for con rods, ive got a tame engineer with a press btw

in answer to my own question, yes it appears to be a copy of the richard taylor design, and when you factor the postage costs is actually more expensive!

yup ,had an untuned SR175 barrel, ma19bs7 carb, was fine with standard pipe but when i put a casa s2 clubman it couldnt cope, suprisingly it was the float bowl that couldnt deliver enough fuel for the revs the clubman was working at, rather than the framebreather restricting airflow so i gave up, pu...

just put a big enough main so that it 4-strokes horribly then work down till it doesnt, and yeah plug chops!

bore to 64mm and use a suzuki 185 piston and a 2mm packer,your right though, a 116mm rodded engine is way smoother than the 107, wish there were more kits with options to use this rod, a GT kit in this format would be awesome

no mate, its going to put a lot of strain on your clutch using such a small front sprocket, if ita a huge problem then you should consider a gp125/200 or li150 box, you could sell the tv box to pay for it
