Re: MOT EXEMPTION - for 40 year plus scooters
I checked my renewal policy with nash carefully as i declared the mugello 186 I’ve put on (which incidentally made no difference to the premium) and there’s no specific mention of a valid MOT being a requirement to insurance. Where it was called out was on the bundled breakdown recovery policy which...

Re: MOT EXEMPTION - for 40 year plus scooters
Worth checking with your insurer as there are stories of some still requiring an MOT. Also the breakdown recovery as some of those require that the scooter is MOT’d, or at least they did until now

Re: 28 mm dellorto spit back
A lot of spit back also suggests a rich setting but depends on how much you consider is a lot. I’m using the MB ‘tea strainer’ filter which has helped with my set up. The added benefit of this filter is that it doesn’t require any jetting adjustments

Re: MOT Exemption from today
Be interesting to see how the insurance companies react. They could still insist on a test as part of the policy requirements

Pros and cons of a 22 tooth primary on a kitted P125?
P125 with a pinasco 177, 24mm carb, fast flow tap and SIP road2, everything else standard. Its topping out at around 60-65mph at around 6500rpm. Would switching from 21 to a 22 tooth primary add much more, or would it lose anything?

Re: SIP performance control cables
Must admit i was thinking the same. Changing an entire cable, outer and inner isn’t something you do more than once a year unless you’re really unlucky or doing a rebuild.

SIP performance control cables
SIP claim to have re-invented the humble control cable & whilst the usual temptation is to rush out and buy the latest snake oil we are promised will change our lives, does anyone have real world experience of these?

Re: Insurance & garage payout refusal
I had a previous policy that stated it had to be secured as well as being in the garage so i have a ground anchor and chain in there. My current policy states that if its within a mile of the garage, but not actually in there, then its not covered for theft or damage. This means that like the letter...

backfire/ overrun causes?
thoughts on what might be causing my engine to occasionally backfire through the exhaust? it only seems to happen when i have been running at full throttle, backed off & then re-open the throttle. There will be a split second hesitation followed by a flat sounding explosive/ woosh noise from the...
