Re: Hub stud thread

Daggers might be making a brand new hub. I have done this before.

Re: Regulator output

Try fitting one of these.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190462726857? ... EBIDX%3AIT

It shows a green LED when the battery is charging and a red LED when it is not charging. Simple. It is also a useful indicator that the ignition is switched on.

Re: SIP Performer Tyres?

Did these tyres get a good review from young Jordan in a recent Scootering? I think they were Jordan's surprise package out of the tyres tested. Is there anyone in the UK selling these tyres, or can you only get them from SIP direct? I'm thinking about using them for the run to Italy, so wear is an ...

Re: Registration??

Gotta be worth a try Dom. I assume you wouldn't have to pay a "first registration fee" (£55), as it is already registered, but I must assume that there is some sort of fee. I can't recall the cost of acquiring a different plate, with a suffix more appropriate to the age of the scooter. Wou...

Re: lambretta clutch cush

To be honest Holly, your original post is a bit short of info. It is only in the title that you mention a cush, but not in the thread itself. However, this is what Adam has picked up on.

What do you want? A motor cycle clutch with integral cush, installed in a Lambretta casing?

Re: One for the Electrical Gurus

Hi, I am viewing your photo, and the two stators are side-by-side, not top-and-bottom. The stator with the smiley face looks to have been sourced from Anthony Tambs, so I would expect that to behave itself. Is this the one that is not so good on your machine? If so, try measuring the relative height...

Re: Gear Change Issues

That is a very fat swivel. I haven't seen one like that before.

If it is too fat, then it might foul on the bolts that retain the swivel base. This might stop the gears selecting properly.

Re: welding advice

You just need to find a local welder who can weld aluminium. I wouldn't worry about specifying how he welds it, he (or she) will know. The best welders not only know how to weld, but accept cash, and small amounts of it. Once you have found a good local welder, you will be surprised just how often t...

Re: Vespa 50s

The best marketplace for small frame Vespas is Italy, rather than the UK.

A couple of years ago they were buying them for silly money, but I don't know if this has prevailed.

Re: European Breakdown Cover

Try ADAC. It's German but they cover euro wide for pennies. As with all such policies, read the small print (that might be hard if it is in German), as many policies will not recover your bike to home if the cost of recovery exceeds the market value of the machine. They will just scrap the machine,...
