Just to avoid any confusion: for matching, Coaster means that the cylinder (or barrel) and the crankcase need to be worked on. The gains are pretty small.

Re: hey.. new but courius Li150 S2 upgrade tips needed!

Call AF Rayspeed and describe what you have and listen to what they say. A GP crank is a good buy, you will need a GP flywheel to go with it (and the right bearings). The electronic ignition is a very good buy. Changing the cylinder and piston is a bit of a minefield - it's a good idea to buy someth...

Large vs small silent blocks

Looking to replace my 50 year old engine mounts on my Li175. I mentioned doing this to a scooter mechanic and he recommended using the small ones rather than the big ones. Replacing small ones with small ones is easier and I don't have to buy as many parts, but does anyone have any thoughts? I've ne...

Re: Mod 1 and 2 On Scooter

Taking a pillion is the best reason for getting your licence, in my opinion.

It's the reason I got mine.

Re: Using a Timing gun/light

I've got one of those. It's excellent. Two comments - 1) you have to have a spark plug attached to the HT lead. 2) You have to pull the trigger when you want the strobe to fire. Can't think of any other reason it won't work. Make sure the arrow is pointing towards the spark plug, which you say you'v...

Re: Tyre Choices

I bought a couple of Vee Rubber VRM396 from M&P because they were cheap and I don't mind a bit of slide with the sidecar. But I took the sidecar off for Seahouses rally and forgot about the tyres but they gripped very well in the rain on the way back so I will use them again! I've bought some o...

Re: Crikey its quiet in here ..iet in here...in here... here..

Personally, I think we've passed the high tide mark of the internet. There's a lot more business emphasis on website these days, and hosting a site is a lot more expensive and forces the owners to finance it to keep it going. The social media platforms are cheaper and easily accessible and all it co...

Re: How to get a licence

Cheers. The post was mainly about the complications caused by the fact that she's german. But as long as she's got an NI number she's good to go.

She just doesn't want to.

How to get a licence

Can someone clarify what needs to be done to get a bike licence, or really, just a CBT? It's been decades since I got my licence, so I'm way out of touch. This person has no licence at all. Is it possible she can get a CBT in time for IOW? I expect it complicates things, but she's German, been here ...
