Re: is a 102 main jet too small for a Rapido 225?
I tried a 25mm PHBL on my Rapido Classic and it wouldn't run properly. I then tried a 26mm PHBH. initially on a 115 main. Then when run in, had it dynod and the jetting was set to; Main 100, pilot 55, Atomiser AV266, Slide 40 & needle X7 2 to top groove. the rest of the set up is; Remote air fil...

Re: mounting the pickup for a sip digi speedo
If you look here you'll find all the stuff you need to use a pick up on a SIP speedo.

There was a feature on these speedos in Scootering a couple of months ago with a picture of the sensor fitted to a Lambretta.

Re: Should I strip the top end after a heat seizure?
The head was torqued down correctly when initially assembled. and there was no indication of any leaks from the head. I don't hold anyone responsible but myself, after all it's a tuned 42 year old scooter and I'd been riding it two up flat out! To see details of the dyno see below http://scooteroti...

Re: Should I strip the top end after a heat seizure?
No obvious leaks found, top end stripped, piston checked and cleaned up and barrel lightly honed. All rebuilt and upjetted from 100 to 103 main and from a 55 to 58 pilot and it seems to be running fine. Now does it need a full run in or would a couple of hundred miles suffice?

Re: Should I strip the top end after a heat seizure?
Thanks for all your advice. I guess I knew deep down that I'd have to strip the top end, but was just hoping that the advice would be otherwise.

Should I strip the top end after a heat seizure?
My Rapido Classic 225 nipped up on the motorway. I'd recently had it dynod and jetted for touring i.e just on the rich side. Prior to this, and after a complete engine rebuild it had just clocked up 1000 trouble free miles. The scooter was nicely warmed up and I'd just given it its 1st flat out run ...
