Not on a standard carb,but you will need a bypass or the pressure will overcome the float needle and lead to flooding.

I'd say that if there's no fibre washer under the float valve then fuel will bypass the needle leading to flooding so you need to fit one. Most of the seals/washers in that kit are not needed.

I've an original seat on a Special and had a Guilari slope back on my GP, both killed my bony ass but just fitted hinged TSR race and by far the best seat I've sat on.
