Would you be happy if someone went and registered Indecipherable Lambretta Collective and started knocking out merch because I can't find a FB page any more and assume it is no longer going? The elites aren't amount the general members. Maybe slightly in the way it's always the same general group in attendance and yes the vast majority are good people.
I don't think people have a problem in that sense. There are two distinct parts to LCGB... It's members and it's committee.

Most members I know think £20 a year for the largest Lambretta club in the world is superb VFM, still the more you put in the more you get out. This is the problem with LCGB. Far too much is underhand with the members having no knowledge of what is or has gone on in the past.
It's a small group of people doing all the doing leading a load of mushrooms.
