Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Tested on new engine, run in 100 miles and set up for the BGM, first time on dyno. First run with expansion in pink, thought maybe the jetting. Second run brown with BGM, very nice and does it better lower down than the fast road engine. Third run Blue, BGM with a tweak but dip back and its a misfir...

Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Sorry for late reply, too busy. Oh, that engine, there were some communication issues so we couldn't convey the correct data, until now :) You were nearly there Darrel, not temperature but a faulty atmospheric pressure sensor. The figures were close enough; uncorrected was 34.51 and at standard INHG...

Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Sorry I didn't mean to cause any confusion. You lose track don't you, because on that photograph of a graph some text is deleted by black marker pen so I'm not sure. I don't think its the same engine though because on this thread its stated the initial sequence of events and tune to work with was: &...

Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Liner is temporary, it'll be getting an aluminium one.
I'll stick it on this engine in a couple of weeks which is more similar to Dan's.

Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

I don't have any shelf pipes I'm afraid but if you look on Mark's site the SIP comparison was the acid test and it blew it away if I remember, there should be some graphs. Should be there Darrell but nothing serious as still working on another engine to beat Tony and Charley but behind because of ar...

Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Oops, sorry clicked the wrong one Darrell, had a glass of red with my tea! Its very clever isn't it but was still surprised. Should be a good experiment to see how it does lower down, I know Scooter Center have had really good results on that kind of tune, so it looks like a versatile pipe. Booked i...

Re: Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Sorry I don't really use or own standard pipes but hopefully will be doing an expansion comparison next week. Its new engine build and not standard. Not welded, 57 stroke, Vespatronic, reed, centred head, and TM carb. Its got packing options to make into a touring tune also so will graph that too. H...

Vespa BGM MRB Clubman - 30.21hp

Got pre release a few weeks ago from Mark, 30.21 last week as bolt on, some jetting changes tonight to suit the pipe as below. Quality superb, double O rings and no leaks. 5 decibels down on an expansion at 4000 revs. No problem now to fit centre stand on Veloce, Sprint etc. http://i262.photobucket....

Re: Vespa Malossi 210 - 35.19 bhp

Believer in putting on the track as well as posting the graphs. York Dragway today - Massively undergeared and had revved out at the 1/8th @ 9k so pipe needed for race spec and changes needed to all the gearing. Timing wrong; final 4th and 5th runs electrode gone and piston dome 20p size concaved (a...

Re: TS1 245 38bhp / 26.14 ft.lbs

This is great, like being a school; similar to the other infrequent poster, this debate is nonsense because of ignorance of what bhp is. I'd like 100 bhp thanks; read up and transpose the formulae working backwards with all the other considerations of making your engine optimum for its use!
