Re: MOT EXEMPTION - for 40 year plus scooters
Absolutely correct on all fronts - [apart from the truck engine in a scooter due to additional cylinders being considered as 'not alternative original equipment' - second point on the V112 form]. I have just filled the form out but there is no reference to a return address. Cant seem to find an onli...

Re: MOT EXEMPTION - for 40 year plus scooters
Paul, thats really good news all round. One thing i would say though is i have found totally contradictory information on the governments own website about the new ULEZ [zone] about to be rolled out in central London [Where i work and commute into]. i'd still be wary of taking it for granted that a ...

Re: Hill Climb Events?
Hi Are you referring to the off road hill climbs? Either off road, on road, up the side of damns, viaducts or what ever steep incline one can find! Eddie, many thanks for the tip and i'll have a look at that now. When we were doing it in the 80s the bikes were tuned and developed specifically for t...

Re: Can I fit Vespa 125/150 pipes onto a 200 and if so, what do I need to do??
Er, no, not unless you graft [cut and weld] a 200 down pipe onto the [indonesian?] box. 125/150 vespa exhausts have a different down pipe exit angle [from the pot] to the 200s. I know because i have cut and shut the two together quite successfully in the past [sito + pipes]. Don't think there is an ...

Oh, and check the integrity of the frame tube prior to throwing money at the engine [or anything else].
They do rot out and when they fail its pretty spectacular!

Re: RUSTORATION ADVICE PLEASE.
I think the general premise of 'road worthy ness' applies here. Is your S2 currently on the road [has a V5]? If not and you are registering it you will still need to present it to an MOT testing station in order to get the DVLA to issue a V5. At that point [an MOT tester looking through the holes in...

Re: MOT EXEMPTION - for 40 year plus scooters
i am pretty sure i read it in one of the scootering type publications, i'll have to dig it out when i get home. I recall having a conversation about this with my [TS1 owning] mate. He also understood this to be the case and is intending to continue MOTing his TS1 [but not his standard S2] just to be...
