Leg just needs to come out abit , give it a hit from behind with a rubber mallet , it may then need to go forward or backward , just give it a hit from the side , keep no until it fits

I use the gear change off a push bike , they have a few clicks on them so you can just open it a bit at a time and leave it

All the ones I've built have been fine so far. I run a tuned RT 225 on my own bike , just had it to bits and it's fine.

Try a X7 needle and a 120 main to start and come down from there

Fit the DC one and wire it up to the reg to run AC , then if at a later date you want to go full DC you can without having to take the stator off.
