1st small length of brass arrived today
3 more small lengths ordered, hopefully come tomorrow
found a supplier sells by the bar
One bar length ie 3 metres is £38 plus Vat plus £25 delivery irrespective of no of bars delivered
in steel can get 5 bar for £35 delivered

This might sound stupid, but is 7/16's brass hex rod any cheaper because it's not "metric"? Still the same size wrench/spanner, what ever you want to call it. 'Nuther question-is it necessary to cut the stock back to round where it meets the manifold? Looks nice and everything but couldn'...
