72mm Piston Options
Hi All, I'm thinking of putting an old rapido 240 barrel I have back into service and I'm looking for piston options. The bore is 72mm. AF do Wossner pistons however can someone clarify what's involved with fitting one with a 60mm/110 crank? Do I still need to trim the skirt? http://www.afrayspeed.c...

Re: Heidenau, , K61 Tyre
They're not a tyre I personally liked at all. They wore out in about 900 miles or so (by that they were to the cords) and I just didn't like how they handled.
I would look a Scoot Smarts and Michelin City Grips.

Re: Fast Idle Speed
I'd start by cleaning the carb. A small blockage in a jet can cause poor starting and fast idling, plus it's the simplest thing to rule out before replacing seals or tracing an air leak.

Re: Help needed
Could it not be a clutch plunger for a GP side casing?

Re: Nova
Nova, do it online, no certificate required. When you send in v55, mot, date cert, fee (£55, plus tax, £17 (?)) They will check its novad online. Did my gp recently, no insurance required, honest! A SIL gp, no issues what so ever. I did a Serveta last month and the application was sent back as it w...

Re: Indian 225 kits on eBay
AF heads are good quality and good value. At 30-40 quid for a 225 head, I wouldn't bother getting one machined (unless you need due to the piston crown).

Re: Scootering Magazine - October edition
Good to see that the development of the Vespa engine has commenced. Even as a die-hard Lambretta man, I was uncomfortable about the apparent Lambretta bias. I understand why this series is only starting now (time) and I look forward to reading it. There is always something to learn from any tuning ...

That's what I'm thinking. You can buy M7/M6 ones easy enough but I don't have the taps.

Stepped Stud - Stator Bolts?
Hi All, I've had a few issues recently with bolts coming loose on the stator plate, and stripping the threads in the casing. I'm thinking a stepped stud would be a good repair, as there would be less screwing in/out of aluminium. Can I use a M8 to M6 stud? I can get these made at work and have the t...

Re: Are Scooter Center usually so slow?
They have been having IT issues over the last few days.
I've had to postpone several calls with them till next week until they are sorted.
