I'm getting old and the eyes aren't what they used to be, but isn't the wire from the condensor to the points connected on the wrong side of the points? To be honest, if they were original points thats the side the wire was supposed to come off... its usually easier to adjust the points the wire ac...

I had one too. Well nearly, it was a Cento. Got a Fantic piston from Allspeed(Southend), had Graham at Kegra hand build an expansion(no kickstart could fit-girlfriend wasn't very chuffed as it was her scoot :)) Had a 30mm Mk1 Amal, "borrowed" from a Local Norton(didn't even chage the jets ...

Whatever the motor needs to not pink.
What I believe will happen in the near future will be some type of fuel injection combined with a computerized ignition system that will anylize and deliver exactly what your engine needs at every rpm.
Think how boring that'll be.

Just had a P125 with exacly the same symptoms. I put it down to atmosphere(scoots run crappy here in July- August. 95% humidity and no rain is not good for carb set-ups) and too large of an idle jet. Down jetted from 60 :o to 50, tweaked the mixture and away it went. An hour later, he comes back, ''...
