The series 1 flange also has a larger diameter outer seal that is accessible from the outside. Sorry just saying.

The spring on the adjuster serves no other purpose than to put tension against the cam of the brass knurled adjusting nut to keep it in place and stop it unscrewing and falling off.

I use mypol tubes. They fit in every way without drama. +1 i use because the valves are off centre to suit Lambretta Rims Thanks guys. Looks like what I need. Sounds like you are using the 90 degree angle valve on the front. This will foul the nut on the link bolt. You need to get a 45 degree valve tube, you can get them from AFRayspeed (the 90 degree valve is used on the back wheel).

Ive found the quickest and easiest way to get stuck seal plate screws out is to weld an old bolt to the top and then just unscrew with a suitable sized spanner. All looks reusable to me, piston is standard so plenty of scope for reboring, dont worry about that broken bottom fin on the cylinder although you could clean it up with a grinder so it doesn’t look so obvious.
