Re: Engine Build - Advice needed

Yeah it's a 36t third which drt make and a 36t fourth, closes the jump from third to fourth and helps keep the motor in the power band. The final drive ratio with the 23/64 box is 4.77 which is shorter than a total standard p200 box.

Re: GT big block experiance

Been following this thread for a while and your motor definitely fulfills my idea of a fast tall/road motor and you have shown that a cast cylinder can be reliable in this set up.Ive got a rapido 225 and the set up has some similarities to yours, but I gotta say it isn't as consistently fast. The khep...

Re: GT big block experiance

Eden,am I correct in saying that your set up has more exhaust timing and a 60mm crank,it definitely looks a bit faster on the vid.

Re: Engine Build - Advice needed

Interesting read this,I've got the old malossi 210 with a 60mm bell crank,jl right hand,30 delay carb,rd350 reed and the 23/64 gearing(36t fourth and 36t third). It gives 182deg exhaust timing and it pulls well from 5500 on to 8000 rpm.I wanted a fast touring motor and this holds road speed well. che...

Re: SIP Lambretta Digital Speedo

Is the DC Wassel issue sorted with the sip speedo now?Has anyone got all of the functions of the speedo to work including rpm gauge yet?

Re: Rally 180-electronic ignition/12v dc conversion

Thanks, very usefull info.just thinking that if you installed a sip speedo then the rpm gauge won't work on a full dc system due to the fact that the speedo measures rpm via the pulses from the ac power feed to the lights.

Re: Rally 180-electronic ignition/12v dc conversion

Cheers for the comments, Yes I have done a few restos including paintwork. The only thing I can't do is welding on the sheet metal sections.Still undecided about the motor root and which way to go with the electrics. Defo gonna run an electric ignition for reliability/ongoing maintenance tho.Keep the...

Re: Rally 180-electronic ignition/12v dc conversion

Thanks for the replies,to answer some of the questions first it's the 6v points type system on the bike now.As for the conversion on the engine block I wanted to long stroke the motor and use the new polini 225 kit to give the engine a nice torquey touring/fast road ability.I figure I just aswell do...

Rally 180-electronic ignition/12v dc conversion

Which is the best way to do this on a rally 180.Gonna restore mine from ground up and want to run a px style cylinder kit on it.I know the engine needs some machining to accept the cylinder but was also thinking of the best way to improve ignition and electrics whilst still keeping the battery,origi...
