Re: GT big block experiance
Rich, I've been following this thread for ages and like others have watched Eden 's vids thinking that his scoot is just what I'd like from a rally going motor. This thread has undoubtedly brought much good press to the GT kit(and so it should),but I also think that many buyers would be purchasing ho...

Re: Polini 221
Cheers Gadge, I got a malossi 220 which is long stroked and it pulls well once in the power but I think that the polini might be more drivable with more torque lower in the Rev range.Think it might be my next motor purely on the touring drivability factor.

Re: Polini 221
SCK have an article on building this very engine on their blog site, from memory they used a 24t clutch cog and polini crank with a standard gear box. They included a dyno in the article and it topped out at around 6000 rpm and 26 nm of torque I think.

Re: GT big block experiance
I bet you're fed up Fred Eden with the nip up,like you said tho you seemed to still have a fair bit of power being delivered from the motor despite the exhaust problem! What temps were you reading when it heat siezed on the rtse 1000?

Re: Engine Build - Advice needed
No I didn't change the second gear cog but it's never been a problem,I think mainly because of the fact that you are only traveling at low speeds when changing into third so there isn't much wind resistance as when your traveling say at 60-65mph.
