Engine test bed wiring

Hi all, anyone know how to wire up the electrics to test run a lammie with electronic ignition on a test bed? I thought it was the green wire from the stator to either green terminal on the CDI, with the yellow wire coming out of the CDI wire to earth. Tried it this way and I get no spark. Confused!...

Re: 2003 PX125 Disc chronic misfire at speed

Update time. I've run it without the green wire connected- bingo! Or so I thought :( . It was initially free of all misfiring and ran sweet as a nut. So I tested the green wire up to the switch and had a good connection even when wiggling it around in different ways. Ok, must be the switch I thought...

Re: 2003 PX125 Disc chronic misfire at speed

Ok thanks, I will give all the above a go and report back. I have it running on a Giannelli exhaust currently, but have a different aftermarket pipe I can try. I was told the other night that occasionally the flywheel can be faulty, even though it looks almost new in many cases, so that may be somet...

Re: 2003 PX125 Disc chronic misfire at speed

No, it's not just bogging down, it's a complete ignition failure or fuel starvation. 9 times out of 10 I've found these type of fault to be ignition related, but unless I've got a dodgy pickup I'm starting to think it might be a lack of fuel for some reason?

2003 PX125 Disc chronic misfire at speed

Hi all, I've got a 2003 PX125 Disc thats all standard apart from a Gianelli exhaust. At speed in third and mainly fourth gear I'm getting a chronic intermittent misfire that slows me down from an indicated 60 mph to around 40. If I back off the revs and ride at 45-50 it seems ok, but if I gun it aga...

Re: GIANNELLI Classic Sports Exhaust- do I need to upjet?

Hi all, tried it with a 102 main and upped the pilot from a 45/140 to a 48/140. Low end hesitancy is now gone and there's a noticeable improvement in power further up the rev range too. Plug is a nice cocoa brown colour too at all throttle setings. I dug out my old July and Aug 2013 copies of Scoote...

Re: GIANNELLI Classic Sports Exhaust- do I need to upjet?

Ok, thanks. As it's a bit hesitant low down is it worth upping the pilot too?

GIANNELLI Classic Sports Exhaust- do I need to upjet?

Hi all, I just bought a GIANNELLI Classic Sports Exhaust from Italy, and fitted it to my 03 plate PX125 disc over the weekend. Makes a nice sound, and was easy to fit. I'm getting a fair bit of rough running at low revs with it fitted though, so I'm guessing I should upjet? Any suggestions please as...
