Re: Jimmers manifold...?
Yep, I'd try another stator. This is a typical symptom for Indan stator issues.

Re: big end shims
Cezeta, This thread has put a smile on my face and it is nice to know that I'm not the only one dwelling on such issues. I bought a MEC 60mm with Italian TV175 rod a number of years ago as the combo of long rod and long stroke is something that I like.... and they were being sold off cheap. However,...

Re: Rimini 5 speed box
I think it wud suit my revvy rb. 4.9 gearing. Going to Whitby I spent a lot of the hilly windy part of the journey in third gear. However on straights with less wind my rb revs it's goolies off which is nice! I'm considering going to 4.8 with a sprocket change, but with I 5 speed box I cud have bot...

Re: Rimini 5 speed box
One good reason (IMO) for a decent 5-speed with good ratios is that I've previously found it pretty difficult to ride a tuned revvy motor or high geared big cc cruiser with a group of smaller cc standard'ish bikes without spending much of my time sitting in 3rd, with 4th being out of the revs/powerb...

Re: Holed piston!!
^... yes, it works and is a good 'get out of jail free' option but it is no substitute for getting your jetting right in the first place. Sure, there will always be a time when this works to your benefit, I've done it at times and even recommended it to Train Driver when he ran into issues on the wa...

Re: Holed piston!!
^... yep, all good. Indeed, I have a road bike with exhaust width at 70% bore with good shape and have not had issue, however, I'd not go quite so far again for general use. "id suggest anyone who suspects bad fuel as a quick and temporary safety measure could try fully richening the mixture sc...

Re: Holed piston!!
I'm not sure that there is a debate to be had here? What we seem to be saying, perhaps even agreeing on , is that dynos serve as a very useful tool for setting up motors but that they are only as good as their operator. Unless a motor is being built for the track, there should always be a safety mar...
