hhhhmmmmm, i read that 'substantial changes' meant an overall power increase of not more than 15% from original....So your 25+bhp engines may well fall foul of this new law in terms of invalid insurance on non MOTed vehicles which have been tuned.

I dunno, caustic soda and the like do not necessarily get rid of high carbon and oil build ups in 2 stroke exhausts. I have burnt the cr*p out using an oxy acetylene torch, once 'lit' then the acetylene is turned off completely allowing only the oxygen to fuel the fire [now] burning inside the exhau...

Sounds to me like something has come loose, check the whole thing over before taking it to dealer - if you are mechanically ended that is. If not, then to the dealer it is.
