Re: rear exit fast flow tap..........

I've set up a few on other bikes as well as my own. No issues. All from Cambridge.

Re: TV top end on LI150 casing

Unless the case has been welded up then it's a 175 cylinder. You should pull the cylinder before ordering a piston so you know what size to get (unless you plan on going to 64mm). At miminium just get the head off and aprox measure the bore before ordering.

Unsure what you're saying here, when the voltage changes polarity, electron flow must change direction, hence AC = "Alternating Current".
You are right. I did not think that all the way through. My bad.

Re: Mixing AC and DC

The AC feed and DC feed are not passed through the same wire until they get to ground. The rectifer converts the AC from the stator to DC (this is where the floating ground comes in to play and the end result is really a pulse DC, all positive voltage). Also the current flow doesn't change in AC, ju...

Re: Mixing AC and DC

All voltages go to ground (frame) regardless of being AC or DC. The rectifier that converts the AC to DC is not grounded internally (floating ground) and that keeps all the voltages happy. It would be easier to explain with a drawing. I'm not sure what you mean by this "Surely the AC part is co...

Re: bgm/mb clubman exhaust

What costs are we talking for ceramic? And can it be done to a used exhaust should it be sanded down to bare metal? About $80 back then probabbly around $100 now. The shop will blast the exhaust clean before coating it. So things like rust/paint/left over powder coating are not a problem. I like to...

Re: Is anybody......

Did that exact set up for years. Pulled great with loads of go in all the gears. I was using Taffspeed MK3 exhaust so basically the same thing with a TM35 Mikuni. Probably the best motor I ever ran.

Re: bgm/mb clubman exhaust

Ceramic coat and forget about it. Paint and powder coat is a waste of time and money on an exhaust. Pardon the dirt http://scoot.net/gallery/bbs/2013-03-2712.03.58.jpg 5 years old on a factory Italian box with about 4k miles on it. No chiping, flaking or discoloring. Looks just like factory. Had the...

Re: Advice needed

Simple answer...wait till its stripped for rebuild, have crank checked for tru at that point, and if its out....junk it. But if its still good...maybe tig it for 'belt n braces' and then run it. ;o) Why junk it for being out of true? Unless the critical surfaces are damaged I'd just re-true it and ...
