Re: Thoughts on Mugello 186 port timings
Is there any research that shows the Ancillotti exhaust at 8,000 rpm? I stuck that into the gearing calculator with that Spanish gearbox. Maybe I've forgot what fun looks like on paper?

Re: Thoughts on Mugello 186 port timings
Personally, I would rather a lower exhaust figure, like 176-178. That exhaust pipe won't create anything useful at 8,000rpm, will it? The only reason for that rpm figure is to make that gearbox doable? Lower the barrel, or get an expansion pipe or go with a different gearbox. Seems like a mix of par...

Re: Thoughts on Mugello 186 port timings
There isn't much bad about those port timings. Obviously the squish a bit larger than I'd like to see. Are you running a head gasket? Personally, I would stretch it out a bit by using a longer rod. You'd be able to make changes to the ports to put them where you need them, whereas because you can't ...

Re: Lambretta TV and Kawasaki Mach III San Fran to LA
Cool video. I didn't realise there were so many scoots out there. I assumed that the californian smog laws would have got rid of them all There are tons of us out here. Presently I have 7 Lambrettas. Arne has a couple here. I know of at least 30 other people in the San Francisco area who own at lea...

Re: MB 5 speed box.
I put a Cyclone in a friend's engine. I was meticulous. I am not a person who cuts corners and I am thorough. The engine put out prolly about 20 hp - nothing crazy. The Cyclone chucked out a couple teeth. The cluster was replaced. I mean, s**t happens. Does this mean Dean is an idiot and everyone at...

Re: MB 5 speed box.
I would like to bring one of these into the USA, but I haven't heard back from the MB crew about how to put my money on their bench.

Re: Lost piston ring peg
I've got a little over 3,000 miles on an Mbgm RT225 kit with no issues. I've also got a couple RT pistons in modified GP iron barrels - one of them has over 11,000 miles on it. Before everyone goes Chicken Little consider that there is a long history of established manufacturers/designers with produ...

Re: Help to identify this disc brake assembly
It looks genuine enough, has grease nipples which makes it TV or SX production. If all the threads are good, it's hard to see that in the pics, but they look stripped, then I'd say you're at the upper end of what you might get for it here in the UK. The previous owner removed the studs for some rea...

Re: Help to identify this disc brake assembly
No, it is listed as coming off a TV200. I was unsure of manufacturer because I am not really used to seeing them. My biggest concern is representing it as something it isn't. I want to be informed so I can be as honest as possible. If the ad or part isn't for you, I'm not making you do anything. I j...
