Re: Plig chop results and odd behavoir

I had this recently with a restrictive exhaust (small tailpipe) that couldn't get rid of the heat fast enough, resulting in the top end running too hot, regardless of how I tried to jet or time around the issue. This was driving me mad as my plug was also white/light grey on rich jetting so I swapp...

Plig chop results and odd behavoir

So I'm trying & struggling to set my carb up So I have a strange boggy part performance wise at 3/4 throttle position https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4220/35236793992_10c4540006_c.jpg but my mid throttle appears very white (I'll drop that back a clip as I have previously experimented with that and...

Re: plug colour should I care?

Yeah that's understood. I guess a bell mouth would at least stop larger objects entering the carb. I may try running it with an empty plastic Vega box on it see if I can find an OK jetting

Re: plug colour should I care?

Well I took the filter off and tried again 122 too boggy 120 drives nicely. Plug is looking nicer chocolate brown on one side but still light on the other This could be that it needs more time to change colour all around the plug? Or maybe not and if not how do you read such mixed messages from the ...

Re: plug colour should I care?

OK I will try without a filter. After that did you just accept that you could not have a filter?

How much is a dyno session anyway and does it not need to be run in first?

Re: plug colour should I care?

OK, so if I should care, and like some have said I don't want to pay to replace parts then what should I do in my example where it is the main jet that is affecting the performance but it's either too boggy to drive or lean?

plug colour should I care?

I'm trying to get my scooter set up right but I dont seem to be able to find a set up that works and gives me a brown coloured sparkplug throughout the throttle positions. I'd always thought that this was necessary but I was speaking to someone the other day with a lot more experience than me and th...

Re: Help with hub

Hi Paul You can see the nut in the photo - although its a full nut rather than half. I guess that if it was a half it would move the hub to the right more. I think that this is the nut supplied with it from new. To be honest I've re fitted it and its not that bad in terms of how central it is, I'm n...

Re: Help with hub

Hi

I tried knocking it the other way than the way I wanted it to go and it moves freely. There is a lip on the axle that prevents it moving any further in the direction I want it to go so I guess I just have to live with it not be as central as I'd like.
