Re: What are the pros and cons of cast iron vs. aluminium ba
Nobody has mentioned the absolute ball ache of running in a cast iron cylinder. At least with an alloy cylinder you only need to run the piston rings in. ive never seen the logic in that "1000 miles" thing. if the bore clearance is right , and its set up properly, I usually leave them on h...

Re: Problem with the pig
you could clean it up and put new rings on , ive seen far worse running. that's a heat sieze on the exhaust port side, nowt to do with the seal spring. locktite and dot punch your new seal in.

Re: fitting a fuel pump to stock fitting carb
well, ive put the floatbowl extension on the lads carb, shortened his petrol pipe, and drilled out his carb banjo, and drilled the hole in the carb to the main jet stack, starts first kick still, and no sign of flooding, see how it goes. personally, I run a 28mm phbh dellorto on a malossi 172 T5 wit...

Re: fitting a fuel pump to stock fitting carb
ive been raking through a load of SI carb tops to fettle this scoot, and the amount of difference in the drillings , not just in the float valve, but the bit parallel to where the needle sits is quite staggering, in variation I mean. something ive never really looked at before.

Re: fitting a fuel pump to stock fitting carb
SI carb doesn't have a separate float needle valve, its part of the carb top assembly. the COSA one has a bigger hole in it for more flow, and you need to change the whole thing. ive told the lad to get a 28mm dellorto and manifold etc.....but funds don't allow this at the minute, so gonna have to p...

Re: PM Tuning Evo or TSR 125 on a standard px150
ive just put a Revolver right hand exhaust on a Malossi 166 motor ive just done for a lad, good quality for the money (160 quid for the shiny version) and went on very easily, all the bits came with it, and it sounds and goes well enough. the saigon version has poor mounting brackets IMO, seen one f...
