Re: chiselspeed ADS 3

Got mine fitted on a GT186 with sx200 gearing which does suit the pipe and compared to the clubman that was on previously it has totally transformed the bike. Had a few issues fitting it though as the pipe wouldn't fit properly into the stub manifold for the cast barrel. Fortunately I noticed before...

The sliding dog or the spring between the balls in the layshaft has weakened probably.

Re: The best scooter ever produced?

This is one of my all time favourite classic scooter pictures: https://farm3.static.flickr.com/2515/3875521077_f4522d084b.jpg I agree, without the Sei Giorni there would be no GS150 and Innocenti would have stuck to 'save the difference' strategy they employed in the early days and never made the T...

Re: The best scooter ever produced?

My 10 year (and still going!) project. These were taken a few years ago now and has been mothballed since. Spent years finding bits from all over the world for it. Lots of bits are very similar to the GS150 VS1. First vespa with downdraught carb and four stud barrel fixing. There were about four dif...

Re: TM24 carb and Marchald filter

Had a similar problem with the 25 PHBL, re-used the elbow (casa lambretta), a short length of 50mm plastic waste pipe and the 49mm adaptor. Bonded the adaptor to the pipe and used a jubilee between the elbow and the pipe. Hot water makes the pipe easier to get into the rubber elbow as it's a tight f...

Re: Whats this RB barrel?

If it's an early one then I believe the port timings will be for a 58mm stroke crank. I've got one the same and had the barrel top and tailed for 58mm stroke. A bored out RB22 effectively. Alternatively could machine to suit 60mm stroke as taffspeed did.

The DACTEK boys have something similar to what you're after on their bikes, maybe they could sort you out Bilko?

Re: WC set ups

I'm using a volkswagen auxillary water pump on my LC project, they are used on the VR6 and some of the T5 transporters. They are within a tenner of the BGM ones but I figure that I could pick one up from just about any town with a VW dealership should I need one in a hurry on thre way to a rally etc...

Re: Viton Seals

That's right, wear slower = last longer. As for technical info I was wondering if anyone had definitive info regarding mechanical properties in comparison to the standard rubber seals, abrasion resistance, elasticity etc
