Re: octane booster

Octane booster will not increase performance on its own, the idea of octane booster is to make the fuel more stable and less likely to pink. Therefore, the benefit is that higher octane allows for higher compression and the performance gain that the higher compression allows. However, if you rely on...

Re: Ron Moss - Avanti TT3 - Cylinder Kit - Review & Test....

^... providing the AF 48 fits a standard kit then it should fit the Avanti too. I run an RS clubman on mine, which was previously fitted to iron barrel, Mugello and Rapido. Indeed, Ron's own Avanti clubman fits other kits too. What element of the pipe does not fit? Does it hit something or is the al...

Re: Rapido 250 TUNE

This is why I wish they had continued with the V1 Mugellos, which people didn't like because of the low port timings, however the low transfer durations made them ideal for long-stroke conversions. It not surprising that Tino use to offer them in longer barrel lengths too to allow for long stroking ...

Re: Avanti

^... I watch with interest, however, your response almost seems to play down the performance gain to be had by your clubman, along with other clubman pipes that continue to rev considerably further/higher than the standard AF type clubman or SIL big-bore. Whilst the RM clubman, RS clubman, Gori, rev...

Re: Piaggio paint in a can

None of the Piaggio paints ever matched the white PX125 that I tried to touch up in the first couple of years of owning it from new. When Vespa/Piaggio couldn't even supply the correct colour (correct name and codes but different from can to can!) for a current model , what chance do others have?!

Re: Why is my S3 such a nightmare to start?

What plug have you got fitted? Try an NGK B7ES and close the plug gap slightly and see if this helps. You shouldn't need to do this if all is well but it might make your starting a little easier. Sadly, this could be the result of about 101 things that could be wrong with it. You need to systematica...

Re: PHBH QUESTION

Yes... but there are some slightly different versions of these carbs; 2-srtoke, 4-stroke, different fuel bowls, mouth intended for hose or threaded for bellmouth, etc. The size of the venturi (26, 28 or 30mm) will not affect interchangeability and things can be swapped on a like for like basis.

Re: tickover on 28mm delly

This is a very common problem and I've got it on my most recently bought PHBH. I did find that going for a weaker slide allowed for better adjustment though.

Re: VHSH rubber mount

Same old problem of location ribs being in different positions. The PHBH and VHSH have this rib grooves set at different depths, which are different again to the MK2 26mm Amal depth, with Malossi rubbers having a different depth to Dellorto rubbers (hard to get) and many of the aftermarket rubbers b...
