Personally I'd take the big carb off.
Stick a Dellorto off a P2 on it.
Be better on fuel and you'll not lose any power.
Your set up doesn't require a 30mm carb.

Re: T5 Malossi
It's not worth replating. I've just had a quote for mine. £135 plus vat plus postage both ways. New piston £80. Brand new kit from Beedspeed £250.

Re: t5 malossi carb size
I've recently taken a 30ml Dellorto and Malossi reed valve off my T5 172. It was as flat as a fart. Switched to a LML reed plate adaptor and standard T5 carb. Also changed the SIP pipe for a JL righty. Absolutely flys along. So much more power it's like night and day. http://i13.photobucket.com/albu...

Cheers.
Fixes to the frame using 6 bolts.
You have to drill holes so remember to use something to rust proof it afterwards.

T5 street racer
Couple of pictures of my T5. Bought in January in a right state although to be fair i didn't pay very much for it. Hadn't been on the road for a few years and came with bent forks and a 172 reedvalved engine that was slower than a standard T5. I've got it looking reasonable for the time being with n...

Re: 24/24 carb settings
I've done the reed plate under standard carb conversion on my T5. Goes loads better than with the original reed, manifold and 30mm dellorto. Don't know why that should be as i bought the scooter with the engine already converted to reed. Wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding before, goes like a ...
