How does a steel pin get welded into an ali. piston? Put a loop in the pin, fit and weld round it? Just can't picture it :?

If there is a new gas station in the area, go to it. The fuel holding tanks will not have been in the ground long and won't have too much crap in them. Run he highest octane you can find, hopefully 93. Avoid 87 unless there is nothing else, you still get home, just go easy. Nowadays I retard the ign...

I believe I would set her up with a tv rodded suzi 190. Plenty of pull, won't rev to high, easy to get rings/oversize piston in the middle of no where if necessary.
Blow the muggy up and you're done.
Keep it simple, she's a lot of miles to go.

Not going to be easy spinning the die for the 5mm with a 1" socket, that is a small thread to be wobbling a big socket around on. Best make sure the sockets fit tight or the threads won't chase properly either. Good idea though. Now, if you had two halves you could screw together, that would be...

Having enough clutch separation is obviously necessary, but so is clutch engagement. Cleaning out the oil grooves makes it all bite better. Sounds stupid and easy, but it works.
