Re: Scomadi 200?
Oh... and I don't think the engine is Chinese.
On rough power to weight calcs the Scomadi 200 is 190 and the Vespa 300 is 139!

Re: Scomadi 200?
I'm pretty sure the Scomadi 200 is a 4 valve twin cam that generates about 19hp so with a kerb weight of 100kg it'll fair well against a 300 GTS that has 22hp and weighs 158kg... the LML 200 4T has 11.5hp.

Re: Lambretta GT 186
I tried cutting my own from 0.25 carbon fibre but the original petals gave better bottom end performance.
I've replaced mine with original petals once in 10,000 miles. There was a small amount of fraying after 6,000.

Re: Lambretta GT 186
"I know folk who double them up!" Why do people do that? Doubling the thickness will severely limit the amount the reeds open not to mention changing the frequency of them. I check and change mine as part of a service before putting my scoot back on the road at the start of the year. You'l...

Good luck with the build... how many bits have you lost through those gaps in the decking?

Re: Wots this for
I found exactly the same when I changed the rings on my GT kit.
I contacted Rich Taylor who he told me it wasn't needed. I have a fair few thousand since my new rings with no issues.

Re: Gt186 carb and exhaust
Well you have two examples here (mine and scootering) that give you a variance of 1.4hp over two different dynos.
It's worth noting also that the "scootering" featured 186 had an exhaust port mod.

Re: Gt186 carb and exhaust
Gt186 with 30mm PHBH open mouthed, Varitronic (early version), PM 25EV pipe.
Recently dynoed at PM Tuning giving 19.3 @ 7500, torque was 13.3.
I know Rich doesn't like Varitronic but I've had no issues.
