Re: Starting after top-end rebuild and new carb

Hi Nick, Thanks for chipping in. I am sorry but don't understand what you mean by 3rd Clip. My carb is a 22mm Dell Orto and the main jet has no bearing on startup.

Re: Starting after top-end rebuild and new carb

Hello all, back again. I have now had some time to look into this and bought a few spare jets and played around with it. So current set-up is Pilot : 45 (also tried on a 48 but that started even worse) Atom Jet - 5699-1 (that's what it looks like anyway by the small writing on it) Main - 112 (The co...

Starting after top-end rebuild and new carb

Hi All, So after fitting a new top end and various other new bits I finally have an assembled engine. My top end consists of a budget 185 kit - 22mm Dellorto and I have a AF 42MM Clubman. So go to start and it starts first kick and sounds much better - however, it then cut out after running for abou...

No that's the odd thing. The actual lugs are in good shape, no rush. Just a bit big....

Shock Absorber eye to stud sizes issue

Hi All, I have been doing further bits to the scooter - this time a replacement for the shock absorber. However, I have encountered a strange issue. The eye of the shock top and bottom wont fit onto the studs/lugs as the eye is too small to fit onto the lug. When I measured the two the difference is...

Re: Panel Fittings - Series 3

Hi Fluff, I got it from eBay - as the other guys have suggested just make sure its good quality. Mine fitted well and its was interesting to see the difference in the new one against the existing one. There are loads to choose from. Scootopia make decent ones so try an check them out or just go onto...

Re: High Revving - air leak - failed gasket

Unfortunately postman plod decided not to bring my new gaskets and Jetex 22mm carb before the Bank Holiday so that left me cleaning and sorting out the exhaust. I decoked the 42mm clubman with caustic soda so at least I have not holes in that and got a lot of gunge out. The next steps for the exhaus...

Re: Panel Fittings - Series 3

Just as a quick update I got a new set of stainless clips and wire clip today and fitted them on and as if by magic the panels fitted perfectly. Looking at the two side by side there was a bit of difference in wire clip in terms of angles. At least something is going right for once. Now back to the ...
