It could be a stuck float or once again a dodgy electrical connection. Check the connection on the sender unit on the top of the fuel tank and on the back of the speedo unit.

Check the connections on the back of the switch. Quite common for wires to break away on these.

I've just had a look at my S2s. One has four thread turns of the tap below the nut and the other has two, both less than the original pic. Admittedly I cut a bit off the treads on the second one as I also had clearance issues. Might be worth doing this to get better clearance. If done carefully ther...

The ones on mine are M8 and the seat is threaded, no need for a nut. I used 25mm bolts but have a leather strap fitted, not metal

For me it's any journey by lambretta over 50 miles. Many actually happen and the rest stay in my mind for the whole journey. I honestly feel like applauding my bike when it doesn't break down. Only needed recovery once in the last 10 000 miles though. :D bodged the rest.
