Re: honda 295 flywheel advice
Can't answer you question about lightening or not, but if you do want it lightening, there's a very nice man who lives on Flint mountain who has a Gp crankshaft (mandrel?) mount for his lathe who will do it for you. Pm me if you want his phone number.

Petrol tank repair.
Got a tank with plenty of good original paint still on it. Problem is that it has a few very small holes ( found so far) around petrol tap area and maybe a couple more underneath as well. Are there any epoxy type sealants that could be applied to the outside of the tank that will give an effective a...

Petrol tank gunge.
Anyone have an easy way of cleaning out the inside of a petrol tank that has been left standing half full of 2 stroke mix since about 1976? No rust or corrosion apparent, just thick residue. Or is it just fill with degreaser and leave to soak or something? Don't want to take it out of the frame. Tha...

Re: Flywheel machining
In my humble opinion, balancing anything that rotates is only ever going to cause less axial or radial movement at certain rotational speeds (vibration). To "balance" a flywheel, and to be effective across the total rev range of even a standard Lambretta engine, never mind the increased re...

Re: Brass fork link bushes.
Thanks for the replies. The ones I've seen advertised are just a direct replacement for the later plastic bushes, with no oilways and not to be specifically used with earlier type grease nipples etc. That's why I was sceptical about them.

Brass fork link bushes.
I've seen some brass fork link bushes advertised, anyone using them? I wondered if they actually fitted without major alteration. I always understood that brass is not good for this sort of application, phosphor bronze being the norm? I can see them shattering when being pushed in with a vice as bra...

Re: Rear shock oil.
Thanks Wack, I've got some 7.5 weight silkoline oil I am going to try from my mtb forks (may be a bit optimistic ). I just wondered if anyone had a starting point regarding amount. Haven't got a decent original to strip.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
