Re: Thinking Aloud
The most obvious choice if you want to keep the TV rod, or use an RD400 one, is the TS185-ER.

Re: Full DC on an Electrex ignition?
Also the 2 yellows from the stator(?) are shown connected together on the reg, if this is correct then they won't supply a wassel rectifier. Do you know where the other yellow is from? Thanks, Kev! Unlike the wiring diagram, the actual stator has 2 separate yellow wires that appear to originate fro...

Re: Tsubaki chain
Confirming the part number is RF06B-2. For riveted endless chain the part number would be RF06B-2R (or sometimes RF06B-2 RIV) with the number of links specified after the part number.
Thanks to ULC Soulagent from the LCGB for helping me get to the bottom of this.

Re: Full DC on an Electrex ignition?
Update: I stripped the sheaving off the wires and found a second yellow that had been cut short. The wiring diagram below now makes sense. I've read that others have been successful in converting these to 'full DC' by connecting the 2 yellows to a single-phase wassell/podtronics rectifier. Can anyon...

Full DC on an Electrex ignition?
I recently acquired a cheap Electrex ignition and would like convert it to 'full DC'. From my research it appears this can and has been done, but there also appears to be different versions of the ignition. Mine is the (late?) one with the common Ducati-type CDI as found on V#sp@ P-series, and the w...

Re: SS228 '66 AF Manhattan Replica
Thank you for sharing the additional pictures and the specs. It's an impressive build, and one of best vintage scooter projects I've seen in cyberspace this year. Nice work!

Beautiful! More pictures please. What are the specs?
No front spotlight? Honestly I prefer the 'Manhattan' without. Would love blast that across the Brooklyn Bridge and into lower Manhattan

Re: GT186 manifold - carb fouling engine mount
I love the TM24, as it is such a responsive little carb, and wanted it on the GT186. I have another GT186 with 115 conrod and 8mm packer. Does anyone think this would allow it to clear the mount? I agree. It's a fantastic little carb, and far superior to the PHBL. An 8mm packer might give it suffic...

Re: GT186 manifold - carb fouling engine mount
Thanks for the suggestions! Appreciate it.
The manifold is 25mm, I double checked it with calipers, and the TM24 fouls the engine mount, regardless if the manifold is facing the flywheel or kickstart.
Curious how others have managed to fit the TM24 to a GT186.
