Re: Paint costs ????
The average price for a scoot is around a grand. Painters that have never done a scoot usually quote less and then realise that they've made a terrible mistake when they see the amount of individual, weird shaped bits that are 40-plus years old, covered in scabs and need extensive prepping. That's w...

Electrics - home made defibrilator! Ouch.
I've just wired up the Jet. I tested all of the lighting circuits using a 12V power supply, all worked a treat. Got the engine running. Started 2nd kick runs well. Ignition key cuts the engine correctly. BUT! The dip beam wasn't working with the engine running and when I fiddled with the wire I gave...

Re: running pathfinders without battery
Now its been a while (25 years) since I did basic electronics at college but a 120W stator should do what it says on the tin and be able to provide 120W of power under normal operation. Since power = Volts x Amps, 120 Watts at 12V = 10 Amps. A lot, but not a massive amount. Since most regualtors cli...

I showed this off to death on the LCGB site when I did it but what the heck. I still love it. http://www.frankphall.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/slideshow/images/IMGP4000.jpg Click the link to see the whole rebuild. That's really nice. 60s Jets must be incredibly rare by now.

Re: Jet 200 - getting close!
30 odd years have passed on i seem to remember the jet 200 had li panals with handles not sx ,i could be wrong as they seemed to stick 'owt' on they had left over! regards joe The early ones were identical to SX 200s except for the mudguard and horncasting. They even had disk brakes. As time went o...

Jet 200 - getting close!
Aplogies to those that have seen some of these on the old board. The previous owner got it from an old boy who'd had it since new and started to restore it... http://www.frankphall.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/temp/IMGP1061s.jpg As it was when I got it... http://www.frankphall.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/temp/IMGP...
