Re: Fans /airflow / techies wanted

I like this thread.... its opened a can of worms... Not sure if my theory is right on this... but somthing I read or was told, but now cant remember exactly who by or when... But I was lead to believe that if the Ignition fires at a massive retard ...The heat can cause localised heating of the pist...

Re: Fans /airflow / techies wanted

So on a high revving engine, the heat can either be in the cylinder (say 23 degrees BTC or in the exhaust 15 degrees BTC) and therefore 15 degrees puts the heat into the exhaust and helps the cylinder run cooler.....no? But my understanding, on our scooters (not turbo car engines) and within the 16...

Re: Fans /airflow / techies wanted

While your talking about fan design......here is an example.....the turbo on the left is the upgrade for the one on the right and it produces roughly 50 bhp and a lot more torque on the same engine with no other mods.....these are both standard turbo`s.......as you can see the blade design on the le...

Re: Fans /airflow / techies wanted

I thought i would just answer Dan`s post in reply to my own on the previous page.......If your just talking racing ...then this will not apply as every racer should know what he is doing with his ignition set up and so this event would not arise... but it can happen to all those road going scoots if...

Re: Fans /airflow / techies wanted

You mean flywheel then..not FANS...Right I think this has been done to death but might be wrong...The flywheel is at breaking point or beyond what it was designed for even the lightweight/plastic ones..with the heat that mega tuned RB..TS1 kits produce...The next step forward has got to be extra co...

Re: carb needles...........and the common prob of weak mixtures

The thing is when we are dealing with Lambrettas that how well a carb works is not the be all and end all because unfortunately size and fit come in to play. The mikuni 35mmtmx fits better than nearly every other carb with room between it and the panel. Even better than its little 30mm brother. Thi...

Re: lambretta electronic timing errors/inconsistency

Nothing is perfect! ...even replacing a Volvo timing belt...take the belt off with the lines all lined up put on the new one no alignment any more, but it is on in the correct place........The timing marks are only there to ensure it will run after a service or rebuild....whether it runs good or bad...
